Brilliant measuring device

I originally bought this to help with the multitude of measurements for painting, blinds, etc when we bought a house. I cannot emphasize enough how much this helped, and how much easier this was than using a tape measure. I will echo the other reviewers’ comments about its limitations outdoors or with measuring against shiny objects, but aside from that, this is a brilliant tool.

Works wonderfully and as described. I use it almost exclusively for getting elevations of existing field conditions. The only trouble I have had is when measuring duct, and that’s due to it’s reflectiveness. In those instances I can usually find a spot with a label, or seam that can be measured. I’d hate to go back to exclusively using a tape.

Good but limitations

Bought this a couple months ago to help with simple site plans and structure locations. It works great under ideal conditions. The laser is very difficult if impossible to see when shinning on a wall or fence in the sun. The higher models give a level bubble on the side which would have been very useful. Indoors-absolutely perfect, outdoors-pick spots that are shadded to measure to. Clayton Surveyor & Engineer
